Early menopause symptoms and menstrual cramps

April 28, 2008 on 1:42 pm | By admin | In Health & Fitness

After all, if your stomach cramps are getting you down every month then what do you have to lose? Often the cramps are just one aspect of the discomfort because they can also be accompanied by nausea and the feeling of eating a very large meal. I just didn't want to continue enduring the pains almost every month so I started looking around for menstrual cramp relief remedies. It was so inconsistent; many months there would be hardly any pain and then I would have a cycle where I thought I had someone squeezing me tightly for hours on end.

Recently I started using a heat pad which a friend suggested I try and has worked with some success at easing the discomfort although I do have to vary where I place it for effectiveness; sometimes on my stomach and other times on my back. You may not have tried this for your problem before but it is well worth giving it a go particularly if you haven't had any success with pills and are suffering with early menopause symptoms. However, if you endure more painful menstrual cramps you may need to try something stronger. Where this is causing a problem with attending work each cycle, you may forced into finding something to help before you find yourself seeking other employment

This situation really needs to be stopped as soon as possible so an appointment with your doctor to find another form of menstrual cramp relief would be a good idea. Your doctor may suggest using the contraceptive pill because he knows just how good it is at helping women who suffer each month with stomach cramps. The only time this probably won't be the ideal solution is if you have planned to have a child in the near future in which case your doctor should be able to advise you further of any dangers and options to help ease your cramp situation. You will eventually find a remedy that works for you; it is just a matter of time.

Types of Depression Treatments

April 27, 2008 on 1:41 pm | By admin | In Health & Fitness :: Cancer / Illness

The biggest problem with depression is how it affects the lives of those who live or work with the person with the condition; research has come up with several different types now, each with its own unique characteristics and symptoms. People suffer for different reasons but basically it is a result of having some unresolved issues in their lives; although it is perfectly normal to be depressed on occasion. Initially, it is important you recognize you have issues, and to get professional medical guidance to help you; professionals can help with the situation but also discover the root cause of the condition.

Throughout our lives there will be many occasions when we will feel low in the same way that there are times when you feel really happy; a person is not necessarily diagnosed with depression just because they feel this way. Probably the most likely cause is stress, often owing to family or other relationship problems which for one reason or another cannot be readily solved; if you're having difficulties in dealing with an issue and you are 'stressed out', you will need to find a way out of it. In many incidences like this, a person believes that if they ignore the problem it will just resolve itself but this rarely happens; as a consequence sufferers make themselves ill with worry which may appear as a physical illness but will more than likely appear as a mental condition.

Another common cause of depression is found in the workplace and problems can arise in the relationships with co-workers; without an intermediary stepping in these circumstances often result in the person suffering with panic attacks as well. This type of situation can make carrying out normal work duties difficult and will often result in the person taking long term sickness leave; at which point a specialist counselor should be called in to resolve whatever conflict or issues exist. It is also possible that certain medications can cause chemical imbalances that create a feeling of depression; this can produce symptoms that mimic exactly those of someone who is depressed.

Usually, as soon as the medication is stopped, the chemical imbalance will correct itself and the person will return to normal but they still need to make their doctor aware of the situation and to keep a check. The hardest cases of depression to deal with are those where there is no apparent cause; a situation like this can make treating the condition much more complicated. The difficulty is getting to person to admit to the problem in the first instance; when this happens the person cannot associate the condition with the cause.

One of the types of depression that is extremely difficult to diagnose is called Bipolar Disorder; it can actually take up to five years to get the diagnosis correct! The most important aspect of treatment is for the patient to recognize they have a problem and taking the responsibility to actually do something to cure it. There is no point letting this condition run your life unless you enjoy the distress it causes you and those around you; the awful feelings that have been experienced for so long will eventually come to an end.

Enhance your detox diet with green tea

April 24, 2008 on 6:41 am | By admin | In Health & Fitness

In recent Swiss study, which included 10 men, one group was given a pill containing green tea extract - 90 mg of EGCG and 50 mg of naturally occurring caffeine – with breakfast lunch and dinner.

Another group of men received pills containing 50 mg of caffeine, and another group of men received placebo treatment.

The group that took the green tea extract showed a 4 percent increase in energy expenditure, which would equate to an increase in calories burned. The study did not show an increase in heart rate among the subjects taking green tea, suggesting that it would be a safe option to use as part of a detox diet and for those with hypertension or other cardiovascular problems.

There was no change in energy expenditure in the group that received caffeine alone.

A Treating Source Will Ge Asked To Provide Information

April 23, 2008 on 1:40 pm | By admin | In Health & Fitness

If you are filing for disability benefits, as a claimant, then your treating source will be asked to provide information about your condition to the Social Security Administration (SSA) which will be used in determining your eligibility for Social Security Benefits.

Your treating source is your medical physician, psychologist, or other acceptable trained medical source who has rendered professional treatment or evaluation to you.  When you are filing for disability and SSA cannot make a determination as to whether or not you are disabled by the initial evidence, and an additional examination is needed, your own physician is the best source.

How To Deal With Stroke symptoms

April 11, 2008 on 6:40 am | By admin | In Health & Fitness :: Cancer / Illness

Many strokes can be prevented by diagnosing and controlling hypertension or high blood pressure, since hypertension is a leading cause of stroke. Sometimes major strokes are preceded by transient ischemic attacks or TIAs. These are "little strokes" whose effects are similar to the symptoms of a major stroke, except that they only last for a very short time. TIAs can occur days, weeks or months before a severe stroke, and so should be considered warning signals.

Prompt medical or surgical attention to these stroke symptoms can prevent a major stroke.

Do not take chances, if you experience any of the above symptoms, immediately seek medical attention. Stroke is the third largest cause of death, ranking only behind heart attack and cancer.

With so many treatment options for cancer there are always times when one method is obviously better suited than other methods. If you have any doubts about which method is most appropriate for you it is a wise idea to consult with your doctor thoroughly before making a final determination. Prostate radiation treatment is not always a suitable option if there are any doubts about whether the cancer has spread. Typically, those who are best suited for prostate radiation treatment are people who have been diagnosed quickly with the cancer. If there are any doubts about the best treatment option, then looking to see how far the cancer has spread will provide a good answer.
