Advanced Dry AMD is the Third Stage And Most Severe Of Dry AMD

September 28, 2008 on 6:45 am | By admin | In Health & Fitness :: Cancer / Illness

Of the three stages of Dry AMD, the third is logically the most severe. This third stage of Dry Age Related Macular Degeneration is named Advanced Dry AMD. Advanced Dry AMD is characterized by the presence of drusen, typically many medium and some large. At this stage, many patients will have experienced a breakdown of central eye tissue and the loss of many light sensitive cells. This will cause a blurry spot in the center of the patient’s retina, making it very difficult for them to do tasks such as drive and read. It also will be difficult for people at this stage of Dry AMD to recognize people’s faces unless the people are very close to them.

What Is Considered Normal For Your Blood Pressure?

September 27, 2008 on 1:43 pm | By admin | In Health & Fitness :: Medicine

On the general medical tag of what is normal and not normal of hypertension, your systolic reading is the one on top and you diastolic reading is the one on the bottom. Normal blood pressure should be less than 120/80. A little higher it would be considered prehypertension and this is between 120/80 and 139/89. After this you go into stage one of hypertension and this is between 140/90 and 159/99. After this you go into a very dangerous stage which is stage two hypertension and this is where your systolic is higher than 160 and your diastolic is higher than 100.

Thoughts On Dental Assistant Jobs

September 26, 2008 on 8:40 pm | By admin | In Health & Fitness :: Medicine

My job stinks. I’ve been thinking of making a change - something that won’t require too much school, but is a cut above bartending. I was told to check out dental assistant jobs. I suppose dealing with bad breath and fillings beats getting groped by drunks.
I’ve been reading up on Dental Assistant Salary Ranges, and think I might be interested. Getting a job should be no problem once I have the training done.
I can’t wait to ditch my current boss - so it may be worth it to do the training at night or over the weekend.
I’ll keep you posted.

Where Does The Pain Come From?

September 25, 2008 on 8:43 pm | By admin | In Health & Fitness

The human spine is one of the most complex networks of nerves, joints, muscles, tendons and ligaments and all of them are capable of producing large amounts of pain.  Back pain usually originates from one of the joints, nerves or muscles in the spine.  The pain may have an unexpected onset, or it may be cronic back pain.  Back pain can be constant or it can come and go, it may also stay in one place, or be severe in one area, but radiate to surrounding areas.  The pain has been described as dull, sharp, or burning.  Each case of cronic back pain is very intimate to that person’s specific situation.

I’ve got a bee in my bonnet lately about Power Wheelchairs.
I’m tired of having my mobility limited by staying with a manual wheelchair. It’s time to move up to an electric.
I’ve been digging up info on Power Wheelchairs, and have found several models I’d like to check out in more detail.
I can’t wait for my new powered wheelchair to arrive. I’m impatient to get going.
I’ll be looking forward to your comments.

Autism Toilet Training Can Be a Difficult Process

September 23, 2008 on 8:44 pm | By admin | In Health & Fitness

If you have an autistic child, you no doubt realize that it can be very difficult to be a primary caregiver.  Most of us are not naturally able to put up with these types of situations so it is necessary for us to continue to learn how to give proper care to our autistic children.  One of the ways that this is necessary is when it comes to autism toilet training.  Toilet training is something that all parents have to do but for an autistic child, it is more than a normal routine.  It is necessary for us to time everything properly and be persistent because the child will not necessarily want to be toilet trained, such as a child without autism.

Eeek! My face hates me!

September 22, 2008 on 8:43 pm | By admin | In Health & Fitness :: Beauty

Ever have the feeling your own face was out to get you?  Like it literally would stab you in the night while you sleep if it could?  Well, I certainly do….if faces were people, mine would be my dire enemy!  It hates me, that’s just all there is to it.  I’ve tried moisturizing, I’ve tried chemical peels, I use sunscreen, the makeups that work for my friends seem to just make my skin angry.  I’m going to try this youthful essence by susan lucci product as my last resort….please oh  please let it placate my angry face!
