Cervical spine surgery is performed in the cervical portion of the spine. It is done to eliminate pain, restore nerve function, and stop unusual spine movement.

When this surgery is done, a portion of a disc or bone is taken out and then the spine is fused with a bone graft.

Bone grafts are of two types, namely autograft and allograft. Under normal conditions, bone grafts are attached with metal wires and screws. This process prevents unusual and unnatural spine movement. It thus reduces pain. cervical spine surgery is done for many types of cervical spine problems.
