Though the term is quite often used nowadays, I never thought that I would see my own grand mother undergo one. On my own way back from school, I decide to meet and was terrified to see her lying numb on her bed. The doctor was called and he suggested cervical spine surgery that would remedy the spinal problem, she had, if medicines failed. To restore her nerve problems, she had to go through this operation which removed one of the discs. The operated area was fixed with steel wires and screws so that the spine becomes more stabilized. This instrumentation soon had her up and about.
